And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
— Matthew 28:18-20

This is an important question and one many people ask at some point. We believe scripture teaches us to baptize people as a symbol of being set apart and as a sign of new life. At Otley Church, we are a community which relentlessly pursues new and growing disciples. Baptism is a great way to show our commitment to God, and it also reminds us of God’s covenant with us Baptism is a wonderful way to announce publicly our intention to follow Christ . They are a celebration of what God is doing in your life and in the life of the church.

At Otley Church, we baptize both adults and infants. We believe God’s promise is for adults as well as for children. In baptism, parents and Otley Church make a commitment to teach and cultivate faith in the life of the child. We are welcoming them into the fold of God.
